Eleanor M. "Laula" D'Amico, 95, of Niles died Thursday December 29, 2016 at Grace Woods Senior Living in Niles.
She was born October 10, 1921 in Niles the daughter of James and Mary Marsico DeLoreta.
She was a 1939 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, employed at General Electric, Woolworths, and The Our Lady of Mount Carmel School Cafeteria. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, The Mount Carmel Guild, a volunteer for Church festival, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, and enjoyed raising flowers and sewing.
Her husband Joseph D'Amico whom she married May 15, 1944 died October 8, 1998.
She will be deeply missed by two sons, Joseph D'Amico of Austintown and John D'Amico of Niles, three daughters, Linda Terlecky and her husband Robert of Niles, Mary Anne Baker and her husband Richard of Toms River, New Jersey, and Susanne Consiglio and her husband Nick of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, seven grandchildren, Shawn Terlecky and his wife Nafeeza, Charlotte Price and her husband Jason, Brian Baker and his fiancée Lisa Moore, Michael Baker and his wife Ali, Jaime Hasnan and her husband Ryan, Alysia Yorkovich and her husband Y.A., and Kelsey McClain and her husband Jesse, and four great-grandchildren, Gabby, Alex, Cameron, and Grant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Marian DeLoreta, and a daughter-in-law Holly D'Amico.
Friends may call from 9:30AM to 11:30AM Monday, January 2nd at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held noon Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles preceded by a 11:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
We would like to thank Hospice of the Valley and Grace Woods Senior Living for the excellent care their staff provided our mother while she was a resident.
