Niles-It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Elizabeth H. Slusher, 73, devoted wife and mother. She chose to be at home with her family for her final days, and on  Friday, December 18, her struggle was over and she died surrounded by her family.

She was born on November 11, 1942, the daughter of Enoch and Helen Kuszyk Evinsky and was raised by her Baba, Michalina Kuszyk.

Elizabeth was a 1960 graduate of St. Mary's High School. She spent her entire life in Niles raising her two daughters while being employed full time at General Electric-Niles Glass. A strong believer in the power of unions, she became recording secretary for local 751, a position to which she was elected for many years. Her work family lovingly called her "Mother", even after her retirement .

She was an amazing cook and baker, skills which she used to show her friends and family her
deep love for them. Many incredible summer weeks were spent with her family in one of her
favorite places, Ocean City, Maryland.

Sorrowfully mourning her departing are her husband of 55 years, Sawyer Slusher, Jr.; her two
daughters, Vicki (Edward) Mishko, and Kathy Haines; her grandchildren, Nicholas (Rebekah)
Mishko, Rachel Mishko and her fiancee Chris Thompson, Chelsea Mishko; and her great-
granddaughter Sofie Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Joe,Steve and Peter Evinsky; two
sisters, Kathryn and Rosie Evinsky;and beloved son-in-law Lorie Haines.

Friends may call Tuesday, December 22, from 10a.m. to 11a.m. at The Joseph Rossi and Sons
Funeral Home in Niles. Funeral services will immediately follow.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
