Ellen Harris, 94, of Niles, passed away at 7AM Friday September 4, 2020 at Maple Crest Nursing Home in Struthers. She was born December 6, 1925 in Amherst County, Virginia the son of Ivanhoe and Cora Beverly Jenkins. Ellen was a 1945 graduate of Amherst High School and was employed for 19 years at Woolworth's in The Eastwood Mall retiring in 1988. Her husband Rufus Harris whom she married September 3, 1950 died December 1, 1996. She will be deeply missed by two sons, Calvert Harris and his wife Rhonda, with whom she made her home, Ivan Harris of California, a daughter Melissa Harris of Hubbard, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Harris, eight brothers, William Jenkins, Robert Jenkins, Luther Jenkins, Clint Jenkins, Clarence Jenkins, Doc Jenkins, Cliff Jenkins, Bernard Jenkins, and three sisters, Grace Jenkins, Laural Jenkins, and Elvin Harris. Friends may call Tuesday from 5PM up until the time of the 6:45PM prayer service at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles. Due to the current health situation, social distancing measures are expected to be observed and friends coming to pay respects to the family are kindly asked to promptly depart the funeral home after doing so. Facial coverings are mandatory also.Burial will be in Jenkins Cemetey in Amherst County Virginia. Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
