Esther Marie Woodford Infante, 94, of Niles passed away on Wednesday April 23 2025 at Mercy Health St. Joseph's Warren Hospital. Esther was born on September 9, 1930 in Niles, Ohio the daughter of Theophilus Faye Woodford and Gladys Jones Woodford. Esther graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1948. After the death of her father when she was 18 months old she was raised by her grandmother Mary Jane Woodford. Esther was employed by Trumbull County MRDD as a bookkeeper, payroll processor and secretary. She also previously worked as a secretary for an insurance and real estate company and the dollar bank.  In high school she worked at The Robbins Theatre. Esther was a member of The Western Reserve Professional Secretaries International and earned the Certified Professional Secretary Certification from CPS Academy. Esther was also a member of Saint Pope John XXIII Parish/ Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niles. In her child rearing years she volunteered as room mother, church bingo, festival volunteer,  and to help establish and work in the school library. Esther enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, dancing, sewing, and reading. Esther married the love of her life, John Carmen Infante on October 28, 1950 in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niles. Esther is survived by her husband John Carmen Infante, sons, John P. (Cully) Infante of Maryland, Thomas A. Infante, and Michael D. Infante both of Niles, daughters, Carmel Marie(Michael) Marzo of Cortland, and Faye Ann Infante of Maryland , seven grandchildren, Darcy(Tim)Hall, Jill(Jeff)Newman, Melissa(Andrew)Bickerstaff Michael R. Infante, Jeremy D.(Cinnamon)Rodgers, John Joseph Infante, and Sara A. Infante(Bo Marrie), and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-laws Barbara A. Infante and Deborah A. Infante, and by several special aunts and uncles  who helped raise her. Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 6PM and Monday from 10AM to 11AM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles. Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
