Obituary

Frank "Tootsie" Rounds, 92, of Niles, died 6:05pm Friday February 24th at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.

Frank was born September 8, 1919 in Niles, the Son of Joseph and Mary Luarde Rounds.

Frank's employment included Stanley Works, Republic Steel Niles Plant and most recently the City of Niles Light Department where he retired in 1988.

As a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles, he was involved as an usher and as a member of its choir. Frank was also a member of the Niles Knights of Columbus #1681 and also was a past Little League Baseball Coach.

Tootsie was a US Army veteran of World War II and enjoyed Gardening, Dancing, Bocce, Sports most notably the New York Yankees and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, was a Niles Red Dragon Football Season ticket holder, and truly enjoyed his granddaughter and great grandchildren.

His wife Angie Infante Rounds whom he married June 10, 1950, died March 28, 2000.

He will be deeply missed by a son Carmen Rounds and his wife Linda of Warren, whom he made his home with the past 8 years, a daughter Mary and her husband Marty of Niles, a brother James Rounds of Battle Creek, Michigan, a granddaughter Melinie Burick and her husband David of Aurora, Oh., and three great grandchildren Taylor, Madison and Justin.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Blaise and Anthony Rounds and two grandchildren Brian and Carmen Rounds.

Friends may call from 4-7pm Monday February 27th at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles, where the Mt. Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30am Tuesday February 28th at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles officiated by Father Nicholas Shori, preceded by a 9:00am prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery where Frank will be honored for his military duty by the Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
