Giovanna Sortini, 84, of Niles, passed away at 10:10AM Friday October 23, 2020 at Shepherd of The Valley in Liberty. She was born November 13, 1935 in Naples, Italy the daughter of Domenico and Francesca Vagliafousco Verrone Giovanna was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles. She will be deeply missed by her husband Salvatore Sortini Sr. whom she married July 1958, three sons Mario Sortini and his wife Paula of Niles, Jerry Sortini and his wife Albina of Niles, and Frank Sortini of Niles, a brother Rapheal Verrone of Italy, three sisters, Caterina Verrone of Italy, Maria Verrone of Italy, and Paulina Verrone of Italy, and three grandchildren Angelina, Jennifer, and Joana. She was preceded in death by a son, Salvatore Sortini Jr, two brothers, Andimo Verrone and Anleino Verrone, and a sister Rosa Verrone. Funeral services were private. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
