Gloria  Verhosek Lucente, 85, of Niles, passed away on Friday June 6, 2025 at her residence. She was born January 19, 1940 in Warren the daughter of Edward and Florence Lazzio Verhosek. Following graduation in 1957 from Niles McKinley High School she entered The St. Joseph Convent in Columbia, Pennsylvania to become a nun with The Precious Blood Order. She taught in numerous Catholic Schools until 1978 when she left religious life to follow a career in public school education. She was a member of Saint Pope John XXIII Parish-Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niles. Her husband Vincent Lucente of 16 years passed away in November 1997 She will be sadly missed by a sister Linda Verhosek with whom she made her home, two nephews, Jonathan Butler and William Verhosek and a niece Lynn Verhosek. She was preceded in death by two brothers Edward and Larry Verhosek. Private funeral services will be held. Arrangements are being held by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
