Helen Melidona, 88, of Niles died at 3:10AM Friday May 1, 2015 with her loving family around her at Hospice of The Valley Hospice House in Poland, Ohio.

She was born May 20, 1926 in Girard the daughter of Demetrio and Giovanna (Minniti) Minniti.

Helen was employed in Housekeeping for 28 years at South Side Hospital retiring in 1989,had been a member of Liberty Assembly of God, enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Her husband Anthony "Tony" Melidona whom she married June 20, 1942 preceded her in death on February 23, 1964.

She will be deeply missed by two daughters, Grace Melidona, with whom she made her home and Jennie(Jeff) Skahan of Columbus, Georgia, a son Frank(Cathy) Melidona  of Niles, a brother, Virgil Minniti of Girard, four grandchildren ,Shawn (Sherri) Schillinger Lea (Wayne)Groff , Anthony(Carrie)Skahan , Jason Melidona (fiancée Mandi Hicks), fourteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter  Mindy Melidona, three brothers, Angelo Minniti, Samuel Minniti, and Philip Minniti, and three sisters, Anna Minniti, Mary Greco, and Carmel Tripoli.

Helen's  famous saying's, "Everything in God's timing, "if it's God's will, and after her children said "I Love You" she would say  " I Love You More". She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. She left a great legacy.

Family and friends may call Monday from 10:30AM to 12 Noon at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor John Musgrave will be held 12Noon Monday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home, 451 Robbins Ave in Niles.

Burial will be in Belmont Park Cemetery.
