Obituary

J. Kenneth Cain, 89, of Howland died at 2:52PM Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at Shepherd of The Valley in Howland.

He was born February 17, 1921 in Columbus, Ohio.He was the son of Edward and Lulu Ferrell Cain.He married Vivian Penner on June 14, 1950. Vivian passed away on April 23, 2005.

Kenneth was a 1939 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and a 1944 graduate of Westminster College with a degree in economics.

He was employed as Account Manager and Office Manager at Western Southern Life Insurance, and as a stock broker at Merrill Lynch and Payne Webber before retiring in 1989.

He was a member of Central Christian Church in Warren and enjoyed golf, tennis, traveling, and an avid Cleveland Browns fan.

He was a United States Naval veteran of World War II having served on The USS Kalinin Bay(CVE-68).

Kenneth will be deeply missed by nephew James Fowler and wife Patricia , niece Sharon Jacobson and husband Norman, nephew Harold Cain and wife Carolyn, and nephew Gene Fowler and wife Sandra. Also, grandchildren, Michael Barsel and wife Amanda, and Shana Willhite and husband Jeff, and great grandchildren Kiley and Alyssa Willhite.He also leaves his son-in-law Rev. Rudy Gruenke and sister-in-law Martha Cain along with many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Vivian and his daughter Joan Gruenke, brother Harold Cain, and sister and brother-in-law Thelma and Paul Fowler.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday June 1 2010 at 3PM with his pastor Rev. Dr. Darrell C. Filler officiating,at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where friends and family may call one hour prior to the service. Kenneth will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
