Jack M. Blenton, 67, of Niles died at 10:35PM October 16, 2013 at his residence surrounded by family.
He was born September 28, 1946 in Berkley, California the son of Jack M. and Josephine McKeefer Blenton Sr.
Jack attended school in Niles, then went directly into the Marine Corps in 1963 where he served two tours in Vietnam. During his service he received many honors including the purple heart and left the service as a sergeant in 1969.
After returning home he married his neighborhood sweetheart Clara M. DeCesare on October 23, 1970 and made their home in Niles. Jack began working at the Ravenna Arsenal and in 1972 became a truck driver for Su-Jon Enterprises for over thirty years. During that time he received a Bachelors Degree in Business in 1992.
Jack's witty sense of humor will be deeply missed by his son Jason Blenton and his wife Kelli, and his grandsons Dylan and Jayden with whom he made his home with. He also leaves behind his grandson Cameron Blenton of Girard, and many cousins and friends.
Jack enjoyed spending time with his family, loved taking trips to Mountaineer with his son, watching the Cleveland Indians games with Dylan, and sneaking cupcakes and watching Spongebob Squarepants with Jayden.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife Clara who passed away December 13, 1999, his parents, and maternal grandmother that raised him.
Friends may call from 1 to 3:00PM Sunday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Funeral Service will be held at 3:00PM Sunday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where Jack will be honored for his military service.
Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.
