With deepest love and sorrow, we announce that our sweet boy, Jakob Allen Wood Braun, age 4, passed away on Saturday, August 23rd. Though his time with us was far too short, he filled every day with wonder, laughter, and love. Born on January 13, 2021, Jakob had a heart as big as his smile. He loved being outside more than anything—exploring nature, going fishing and camping with his family, making mud pies, and finding joy in every little adventure. He especially adored reptiles, and his fascination with frogs brought endless giggles and excitement to everyone around him. Jakob leaves behind his loving mother, Ashley Tomlin, and his big brother, Caleb, who was his hero and best friend. He is also held close in the hearts of his great-grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who cherished him deeply. He now rests in the arms of his father, Justin Braun, who went before him. We take comfort in knowing they are together. Family and friends may gather for a celebration service honoring Jakob's life at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home on Saturday September 13 from 10am until the time of the noon funeral service. Together, we will share stories, memories, and the joy he brought to the world. As a tribute to Jakob's love of nature, the family asks friends and family to wear green in his memory. Though our hearts are broken, Jakob's spirit will forever live on in the rustle of the trees, the ripple of the water, and the quiet croak of a frog on a summer night.
