James Michael Bowers, 65, of Warren, passed away in the early morning hours on February 3, 2014 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.

He was born August 23, 1948 at Ross Memorial in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania the son of John and Lorraine Haywood Bowers

Jim was a 1966 graduate of North Hills High School and a 1974 graduate of Youngstown State University where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.

He was employed at Delphi Packard Electric from 1969-1982. James also known as "JB" also owned and operated Percision Concrete before retiring due to health complications.

James was also a Master Mason at The Niles Lodge and coached his sons in Little Red Dragon Football with friend and assistant coach Kenny Rieser for three seasons suffering only one defeat. He also coached the Mount Carmel Jr. High Football Squad for several years.

Jim was an avid Niles Red Dragon and Pittsburgh Steelers football fan. He enjoyed life and loved his family. He was well known for his sense of humor and loved spending time with his children. He also enjoyed golfing, skiing, and swimming with his family among other activities. Jim had many wonderful memories with his aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews. He loved you all.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Verna Vrecanar Bowers whom he married April 20, 1968, a daughter Amy Michele Journey and her husband David of Jacksonville, Florida, two granddaughters, Victoria Michele and Vanessa James Journey, two sons, David Bowers of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and James Joseph Bowers and his wife Lisa Watson Bowers of Niles, two brothers, David Bowers and his wife Lynda of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and John Bowers of Elkins, West Virginia, a sister Patricia Drobot and her husband Tom of Deerborn, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 11AM to 1PM Saturday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 1PM Saturday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with Pastor Charles Gilliam officiating.
