James C. Thomas, 62 of Vienna died at 10:54PM Tuesday January 17, 2012 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio.

He was born August 2, 1949 in Warren the son of Forest and Elnora Waldschmidt Thomas.

James was a 1967 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and employed for 39 years at Delphi Packard Electric before retiring in 2006. He was a member of Howland SCOPE, enjoyed golfing, playing corn hole, loved animals, and a United States Army veteran of The Vietnam War having served as field general and maintaining, installing, and repairing communication equipment.

Jim, who always loved a good party, will be deeply missed by his wife Barbara Flynn Fife whom he married March 17, 2003 a son Erick Thomas of Cortland, two step-sons, Carl Fife Jr. and his wife Linda of Austintown and Barry Fife of Mineral Ridge, a daughter Amber Maxwell and her husband Eric of Boston Massachusetts, two step daughters, Krista Taylor and her husband Ed of Warren, and Sonya Gangarcic and her husband Greg of Florida, a brother Wayne Earl Thomas of Brookfield, three sisters Kay Brady of Warren, Peggy Boyd of Cortland, and Kathy Brown and her husband Ted of Niles, and 10 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 5 to 7PM Friday and 9:30AM to 10AM Saturday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Funeral services will be held 10AM Saturday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with Rev. Phil Kachersky officiating. Jim will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard after the service.
