Janet L. Jones, 76, of Niles, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday December 24, 2025 at Mercy Health St. Joseph's Warren Hospital. She was born April 6, 1949 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania the daughter of Mike and Margaret (Zelusky) Olexo. Janet was a 1967 graduate of Girard High School. She was also a graduate of The Choffin School of Practical Nursing. Her career was spent as a nurse in the Alzheimer's unit at Glenview Manor and Briarfield Nursing Home. Taking care of others that could not take care of themselves was a passion of hers. She was a member of Niles First Christian Church, an avid reader, loved going on casino trips, and there wasn't a restaurant that she didn't love.Spending time with her grandchildren and attending their extra-curricular activities is where you would find her most days. The last year she spent living her best life. She will be sadly missed by two daughters Karlene Pappada and her husband David of Niles and Michele McNully and her husband Jason of Bentonville, Arkansas, two sisters, her twin Janice Semple of Niles and Margaret Paden and her husband Dale of Girard, sister-in law Lori, many nieces and nephews. Her niece Carlin Olexo held a special place in her heart and called her Aunt Crabby. She leaves behind five grandchildren, Damon Cunningham(Kelsey McGinnis), Eric Pappada, Anthony Pappada, Victoria McNully, and Rhys McNully, and a great-granddaughter Lilith Rose Cunningham. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Carl Olexo. Friends may call Sunday from 2PM until the time of the 4PM funeral service at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles. Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home.
