Lois "Jean" Melillo, 85, of Niles died at 8:25pm Sunday November 19th at Hospice House in Poland, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 9, 1932 in Pioneer, Tennessee the daughter of Silas and Perna Walden.

Jean was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles and volunteered as a noon aide at Washington School, Mount Carmel School cafeteria aide, Den mother for Cub Scouts, and Niles football mothers. She enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles, crocheting and artwork.

Jean  will be deeply missed by her husband Ray T. Melillo, whom she married January 28,1955, two sons, Michael Melillo and his wife Gerri of Niles, Ray T. Melillo and his wife Pam of Poland, three daughters Vickie Janik and her husband Ed of Niles, Gwen Maynard of Youngstown, Monica Melillo and her  fiance Bill Heasley of Painesville, 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a sister Virginia Sallay.

Friends may call Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Noon funeral service at the Joseph Rossi & Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
