John "Joe" Connell, 59, of Niles died at 12:27PM Monday January 29, 2018 at St. Joseph's Warren Hospital.

He was born November 27, 1958 in Warren the son of John and Doris Unger Connell.

Joe was a 1978 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, attended and played football at Eastern Montana University and The University of Tennessee-Martin. He was employed for 20 years as a safety director for McQuaids Distribution retiring in 2014, member and past president of Niles Frontliners, Cub Master of Pack 135 at First United Methodist Church in Niles, and was involved with Niles Youth League Baseball for 20 years.

Joe enjoyed playing cards, dice games, dominoes and cooking. He was an avid Niles Red Dragons and The Ohio State University sports fan.

He will be sadly missed by his mother of Warren, his wife Nancy Maughan Connell whom he married April 28, 1984, three sons, Jacob Connell(Anna) of Niles, Zachary Connell(Angela) of Niles and Nicholas Connell(Lindsay) of Niles, and a sister Victoria Porter of Warren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call from 4 to 7PM Thursday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Funeral services will be held 10AM Friday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
