John A. Fredericka, 93, of Niles died at 7:33 p.m. Monday March 24th at Cortland Healthcare Center Nursing Home.

John was born June 11, 1920 in Niles the son of Nicholas and Theresa Modarelli Fredericka.

He has a 1938 Niles McKinley High School graduate and was employed at General Electric in Niles as a millwright and Foreman for 37 years before retiring in the late 1980s.

John was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles, enjoyed golfing, especially in his General Electric leagues, and was a United States Army veteran of World War II.

John who was known as a very friendly guy will be deeply missed by his wife Violet Collelo Fredericka whom he married January 26, 1952, his two sons Dr. Nick Fredericka of Warren and John T. Fredericka of Niles, and a sister Rose Calderone of Niles.

He is preceded in death by seven brothers James, Joseph, Frank, David, Anthony, Sam and Rocky Fredericka and two sisters Maggie Fredericka and Mary Infante.

Friends may call Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the 9:30 a.m. prayer service at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles officiated by Father John-Michael Lavelle.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
