Joseph A. Chance Jr., 84, of Niles, died at 3:30AM Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Home in Niles.
He was born September 3, 1930 in Niles the son of Joseph and Philomena Marsico Chance Sr.
Joseph was a 1948 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, a 1957 graduate of Youngstown College with a degree in Business Administration, and employed as an Advertising Manager at Ajax Magnethermic for 32 years in Warren retiring in 1993.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, American Legion Post 106 in Niles, enjoyed sketch drawing, golfing, an American History buff, and an outspoken amateur editorialist.
Joseph was a United States Army Veteran of The Korean War.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Amelia Marcolini Chance whom he married August 27, 1955, a son Joseph J. Chance(Anne) of Franklin, Tennessee, a daughter Nancy Jewell of Fort Mill, South Carolina, three grandchildren, Shannon Billits(Adam), John Jewell, and Rachel Jewell.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph C. Chance, seven brothers, Martin Chance, Larry Chance, Frank Chance, Dominic Chance, Daniel Chance, Henry Chance, and John Chance, and four sisters, Mary Rich, Ann Cilfone, Rose Lambert, and Lucille Picone.
Friends may call from 4 to 7PM Tuesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery where Joseph will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
