Joseph M. Malvasia Sr., 86, of Niles died at 9:50AM Wednesday March 14, 2018 at his residence.

He was born March 7, 1932 in Niles the son of Michael and Rose Ciminero Malvasia.

Joe was employed in security at Republic, LTV, and WCI Steel for 38 years retiring in 1996. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, and a United States Air Force Veteran of The Korean Conflict.

Joe, who was very giving and loved his family foremost, will be deeply missed by his wife Geraldine Backus Malvasia, whom he married August 10, 1955, his children, Cheri Wrobleski(Martin) of Niles, Joseph M. Malvasia Jr.(Kathy) of Green, Ohio, Karen Mowery( Mickey) of Niles, Janice Buckler( Bruce) of Niles, and a sister Joanne Barbati of Niles, eleven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Malvasia Jr.

Friends may call from 8:30AM to 9:30AM Friday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
