Joseph J. Sudano, 86, of Niles died at 4:23AM Monday, October 4, 2010 at St. Joseph's Health Center Eastland in Warren, Ohio.

He was born January 15, 1924 in Niles the son of Nicola and Pauline Reino Sudano.

He was a 1942 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, and employed as a millwright at U.S. Steel McDonald Works for 38 years before retiring in 1980 and for 17 years at General Motors Lordstown before retiring in 1999.

Joseph was of the Catholic faith and an United States Army veteran of World War II having served in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe.

Joseph, who was a beloved husband, an adoring father, and grandfather, will be deeply missed by his wife Irene Cossick Sudano whom he married February 21, 1964, his daughter Joanne Robbins and her husband John of Chesterland, Ohio, two brothers, Louis Sudano and his wife Grace of Berlin Center, Ohio, and James Sudano and his wife Sandie of Niles, three sisters, Angie Noga of Niles, Mary Jane Yurcho and her husband Leonard of Youngstown, Pauline Muccio of Niles, and the loves of his life, his granddaughters Chelsea and Megan.

He is preceded in death by a son, Niles Police Officer John A. Utlak, four brothers Angelo Sudano, Nicholas Sudano, Anthony Sudano, Michael Sudano, and a sister Carmella Natale.

Friends may call from 5 to 8PM Tuesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mt. Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 7:30PM. Friends may also call Wednesday from 10 to 11AM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held 11AM Wednesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with Fr. John S. Trimbur officiating.

Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery where Joseph will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
