Joseph M. "Whiz" Ciminero, 77, of Niles, died at 2:20AM Thursday September 19, 2013 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.

He was born April 22, 1936 in Niles the son of Rocco and Caroline Ross Ciminero.

He was a 1955 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, was employed at General Electric and Bostwick Steel Lath in Niles for several years and a police officer for 38 years at The Niles Police Department retiring in 1998.

He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Niles, The Niles Fraternal Order of Police, and enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Shirley Hubauer Ciminero whom he married May 5, 1997, two sons Randy Ciminero and Brian Ciminero both of Niles, a brother Michael "Piccolo" Ciminero of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a sister Marie Ross and her husband Anthony of Girard, two grandchildren, Christopher Ciminero of Cincinnati,Ohio, and Kelli Snowden and her husband Chris of Columbus, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Mamie "Chuckie" Currie.

Private Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are being held at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
