Laura R. Vendemia, 82, of Niles, passed away on Monday October 2, 2023 at Shepherd of The Valley Howland. She was born September 12, 1941 in Niles the daughter of Philip and Julia Filipone Ferro. Laura was a 1959 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Niles, and was employed at Giant Eagle until her retirement. She also enjoyed long rides with her husband John and their dog Snookers, fishing, cooking, and reading. Her husband John Vendemia whom she married February 14, 1976 died March 25, 2013. She will be deeply missed by two brothers, Stephen Ferro and his wife Dianna of Warren, Phillip Ferro and his wife Joy of Niles, and step-daughter Shelley Adams and her daughter Sara of Girard, Pennsylvania. She especially enjoyed time spent with her best life long friends , cousin Loretta Camarata and her husband Andre, Mary Jane Mosca, Annie Jones, and Emily Lazio. Many happy memories were made throughout the years.The family wishes to express their gratitude to the wonderful nurses, at St. E's Hospital and nurses, social workers, and ministers from Hospice of The Valley for all their care and compassion. Private funeral services will be held. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery. Material contributions can be made to Our Lady of Mt.
