Lydia F. Infante, 84, of Niles died at 2:00PM Monday, March 29, 2010, at The Center for Compassionate Care in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

She was born December 1, 1925 in L'Aquila, Italy the daughter of Gregorio and Florinda Ianni Lorenzetti.

After the death of her husband Carl in 1960, Lydia solely owned and operated Niles Brake and Auto Parts.

Lydia loved the fine and performing arts and had been a volunteer at The Butler Institute of American Art since 1992.

She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Niles, served on The Executive Boards for Zonta International and The Youngstown Opera Guild, and was a member of The Zoning Appeals Board in Weathersfield Township.

Lydia enjoyed traveling. She was a member of the first Pan Am charter flight that went around the world in 1977. She also enjoyed cooking, teaching others to cook, and presenting cultural food displays at The Italian Festival in Warren.

Her husband Carl Infante whom she married October 23, 1948, died June 11, 1960.

She will be deeply missed by a son Anthony Infante of Niles, a daughter Carla Infante(Thomas Bogovich) of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, a sister Florinda Nespeca (Dominic) of Niles, and a granddaughter Carlye Slaughter of Sharpsville.

She is preceded in death by two step-mothers, Concetta Torellio Lorenzetti and Piarina Mancinni Lorenzetti, and a brother Jack Lorenzetti.

Friends may call from 1 to 3PM and 5 to 7PM Sunday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Monday at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Niles, with Father Thomas Kraszewski officiating, preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
