Maria "Mary" S. Grega Menegos, 104, of Niles and formerly of Salem died at 3:04PM Saturday June 9, 2012 at her residence.

She was born May 29, 1908 in Oseola Mills, Pennsylvania the daughter of Andro and Susie Soltis Grega.

She married James P. Menegos on August 10, 1929 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania and he preceded her in death on March 17, 1987.

Mary worked alongside her husband as proprietors of restaurants in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Salem, Ohio and The Butler Soda Grill in Niles. She also worked for the Kroger Company.

Mary was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Warren. She enjoyed baking, watching soap operas, dearly loved her family and her garden. She also enjoyed crocheting and handcrafted tablecloths and blankets for many of her children and grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by two daughters, Susan Guarino and her husband Joseph Sr. of Girard, Judy Alltop of Dublin, Ohio, and two sons, Pete Menegos and his wife Rose of Houston, Texas and Mike Menegos of Salem, and a daughter-in-law Shirley Menegos of Fairlawn, Ohio. Also left to cherish her memory are 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a son, Andy Menegos, a daughter Koula Menegos, five brothers, Andrew Grega, Mike Grega, John Grega, Frank Grega, George Grega, and two sisters, Helen Richards and Ann Nixon.

Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Funeral services will be held 10:30AM Wednesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home with Fr. Steve Polykarp officiating.

Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Salem where committal services will take place at 2:30PM.
