Marilyn Natoli- Shaftic, 69 of Niles died Thursday October 8, 2015 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.

She was born March 18, 1946 in Niles the daughter of Joseph and Angeline Muccio Natoli.

Marilyn was a 1964 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and was very proud of her graduation from Hiram College in 1983. She received her Masters Degree in Organizational Management from The University of Phoenix in 2000.

Marilyn retired in 2002 from General Motors Lordstown after 34 years of service .She was Senior Manager of salaried personnel at the time of her retirement. She was a life long member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, an adventurous person who loved to travel and experience new places and loved her trips to Hilton Head, South Carolina every year. She attended 16 USS Corry Reunions with her husband Jim and made friends with people from all over the United States. Marilyn especially enjoyed tending to her butterfly garden.

She will be deeply missed by her husband James E. Shaftic whom she married May 27, 1994, her step-children, Brooke Shaftic Norge of New Castle, Pennsylvania, James J. Shaftic and his wife Sherry of Leeper, Pennsylvania, Jeff Shaftic and his wife Rochelle of New Castle, Pennsylvania, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by a brother Richard Natoli and his wife Donna of Niles, a sister Jolene Natoli of Leesburg, Florida, two sister-in-laws, Jan Natoli and Nancy Natoli, many nieces and nephews, and her cat Miss Maddie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Sam Natoli, Dom Natoli, and Joe Natoli, her dog Kim, cats, Sam and Angie. Marilyn loved her pets and would hold them in her arms and sing " You Are My Sunshine" especially when it came time to take them to the veterinarian when they were sick. If you would like to raise you voice and sing a verse of "You Are My Sunshine" she would get a kick out of it

Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 5PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home where The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 4:30PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.

Material contributions can be made in Marilyn's name to Second Harvest Food Bank, 2805 Salt Springs Road, Youngstown, Ohio 44509.

Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
