Obituary

Mary J. Blair, 77, of Niles died February 28, 2014 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio.

She was born November 14, 1936 in Clarksville, Pennsylvania the daughter of Oran and Helen Holben Reesman.

Mary was a 1954 graduate of East Bethlehem Township High School, a 1956 graduate of Penn Commercial College in Washington, Pennsylvania with a degree in business and a 1984 graduate of Pittsburgh Floral Academy.

She was employed as a secretary at Plass Steel in Washington, Pennsylvania and owned and operated Ridge Flower and Gifts.

Mary was a member of Niles First United Methodist Church, Niles Football Mothers, and was an avid supporter of Boys Town. She enjoyed ceramics, crafts, and all activities associated with being a mother,grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mary, who was everything to everybody, will be deeply missed by her husband Matthew J. Blair Sr. whom she married May 4, 1956, two sons, Attorney Matthew J. Blair Jr. of Niles, and Attorney Gil Blair and his wife Gaye of Mineral Ridge, a daughter Pam Barrett and her husband Craig of Niles, two brothers, Homer Reesman and his wife Sarah of Jefferson, Pennsylvania, Oran Reesman and his wife Doreen of Mineral Ridge, two sisters, Jean Turner and her husband Robert of Warren, Pennsylvania, and Vera Sklad of Newbury, Ohio,a sister in law Karen Bucher and her husband Dick of North Ridgeville, eight grandchildren, Mary Blair, Anjelica Blair, Craig Barrett Jr., Ryan Barrett and his wife Jenn, Patrick Barrett, Meredith Blair, Gil Blair, and Megan Blair, two great-grandchildren, Macy Barrett and Liveah Barrett, and her three close friends, Marge Jones, Betty Sullivan, and Connie Lyle.

She was preceded in death by her four brothers and two sisters, Howard Reesman, Laura Barber, Della Bradley, Jess Sprankle, Don Sprankle, and Ted Sprankle.

Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8PM and Tuesday from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Funeral Services will be held 11AM Tuesday at The Niles First United Methodist Church with Pastors Nathan Howe and David Black officiating, preceded by a 10:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
