Mary Lamonge, passed away on August 4'th while visiting her son and daughter in Tucson, Arizona, shortly after celebrating her 90'th birthday on May 26. Mary was born May 26, 1920 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania the daughter of Charles and Julia Kryniskia Kozup. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brothers, Charles, Peter, Michael, infant John, and close sister Anne Freeman. Mary attended Warren G. Harding High School and went onto work for the family business, The Highland Cafe in Warren, as well as Cafe 422, Cherry's Top of The Mall, and Jimmy Chieffo's Restaurant. In her later years, she co-owned Endless Summer Flowers with her youngest daughter Mary-Kathryn. On May 3, 1946, she married Paul Lamonge and spent 50 years of their lives together until his death on August 12, 1999. During their life together, Mary and Paul owned and operated The Capri Night Club and various other business. They also shared a passion for gardening, cooking, and entertaining. They raised five children together, Charles Lamonge and his wife Angela of Niles, Julia Baron and her husband Dr. Henry of Niles, Paula Carlson and her husband Mark of Warren, Mary Kathryn Lamonge, and Michael Lamonge, both residing in Tucson, Arizona. After spending several years together in Monrovia, California, Paul and Mary returned to Old Forge Road in Niles, where they spent their remaing years together. Mary was a member of The St. John Russian Orthodox Church in Warren. During her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and had a great love for animals. During her time in Monrovia she bred and raised Cocker-Spaniels and also rescued and adopted various animals throughout her lifetime. She also enjoyed traveling frequntly to Arizona where she loved visiting her family. Mary is survived by her five children, 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and two sister-in-laws Nellie Marchonte and Marie Kozup. The family would like to thank Melissa Watson for her dedication to Mary over the years, Primary Care, Hospice of Tucson, and The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home. Friends may call from 5 to 8PM Friday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where a Memorial Vigil will be held at 7:30PM. Mary will lie in state from 9:30AM up until the time of the 10AM funeral service Saturday at St. John Russian Orthodox Church in Warren, with Fr. Jonathan Cholcher officiating.
