Mary A. Raschilla, 100, of Niles died at 8:15AM Friday January 31, 2014 at Autumn Hills Care Center in Niles, Ohio.

She was born May 15, 1913 in Niles the daughter of Louis and Carmela Liberatore Caldrone.

Mary was a homemaker, a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, The Catholic Women's Guild for many years, and The Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society. She was also a member of The White House Ladies and portrayed Caroline Harrison, wife of Ohio president Benjamin Harrison.

She loved to bake and cook for her family and friends, enjoyed playing scrabble and working cross word puzzles.

Her husband Dominick Raschilla whom she marred June 22, 1935, died March 1, 1978.

She will be deeply missed by a son Robert Raschilla and his wife Linda of Niles, a daughter Diane Colundjia and her husband Michael of Atlanta, Georgia, a sister Clara Tricomi of Niles, three granddaughters, Melissa Raymond and her husband Mitch of Texas, Holly Colundjia of Georgia, and Megan Ringer and her husband Patrick of Georgia, and two great-grandchildren, Mary Grace Raymond and James Maxwell Raymond.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, John Caldrone, Thomas Caldrone, and Roger Caldrone, and five sisters, Laura Jenwien, Rose DeSantis, Helen Flask, Angeline Rishel, and Violet Caldrone.

Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 4PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 3:30PM

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles with Fr. John-Michael Lavelle officiating, preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery
