Michael Marchionda, 53, of Niles, began his final journey home on Monday May 18, 2015.

He was born February 9, 1962 in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania the son of Pasquale and Theresa DiMarco Marchionda.

Michael graduated in 1980 from Center High School and moved to Niles after his graduation from Slippery Rock University in 1984.

His two daughters Amanda and Meghan were the true light of his life.

Michael devoted his career to teaching special needs students and spent the majority of his time at Champion Middle School. Always an advocate for the special needs population, until recently, he also served on The TCBDD.

Michael is survived by his daughter Amanda, former partner Michael Cervinski, former wife Cynthia Snyder Poplyk, a sister Sandra Kunder and her husband Scott, and two very special friends, Eva Jeffries, and Christine Maffitt.

A good friend is hard to find, hard to lose, and impossible to forget…..

Michael will be rejoined with his parents and guided to eternal by his daughter Meghan who started her journey on November 12, 2014.

Family and friends may call Saturday May 30'th 2015 from 1 to 6PM at Michael's residence for a celebration of his life.

Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
