Mildred "Millie" Marchese, 86, of Niles passed away peacefully Saturday, January 1, 2011 at her residence with her family at her side.
She was born November 24, 1924, in Girard, Ohio the daughter of John and Anna Geydos
She met and married her husband of 67 years, William Marchese, when they fell in love at Avon Oaks Roller Skating Ring. They were introduced by Willie's Cousin, Guy Simeone.
She was employed at Packard Electric for several years before starting her family of five children. As the kids grew older, she returned to work at Servamation Cafeteria at Packard Electric.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Niles where she was a parishioner for 67 years and The Infante Jesus of Prague Guild.. She was also very involved with her children's functions at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School and enjoyed bowling.
She enjoyed her special vacations and memories with her children and grandchildren especially those trips to Disney World.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband William "Willie" Marchese of 67 years whom she married April 22, 1944, two sons John Marchese and his wife Josephine of Arkansas, and Raymond Marchese of Niles, three daughters, Angie Dahringer and her husband Steve of Maryland, Linda Marchese of Niles, and Marlane Berry of Niles,a sister Marge Rodomsky of Girard, eight grandchildren, Debbie Hall, Raymond Dahringer, Dr. Sandra Johnson, Amy De Latore, Jennifer Berry, Ronnie Berry, Marine Sergeant Nicholas Marchese, and Maria Marchese, and eight great-grandchildren, Brett , Megan ,and Rachael Hall, Mark and Anna Johnson, Miguel, Gabriella , and Maria DeLatore.
Her nieces and nephews were special to her enjoying family reunions and loved when they came to visit her.
She is preceded in death by a son-in-law Ron Berry Sr., two brothers, John Geydos and Mike Geydos, and three sisters, Anna Geydos, Mary Frankford, and Sue Roth.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Infante Jesus of Prague Guild will conduct prayers at 3:45PM and The Mt. Carmel Beraavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30AM Wednesday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, with Fr. Larry Frient officiating, preceded by a 9AM prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
