Patricia A. Sudik, 87, of Warren, peacefully passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, at her residence, embraced by the love and presence of her devoted family.
Born on December 27, 1938, in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, Patricia was the tenth of sixteen cherished children of the late Frank and Catherine Maruschak Shufran. A proud graduate of Philipsburg High School’s Class of 1957, she dedicated much of her life to nurturing others, exemplified by her years of service as a cook with Mollica’s Catering and the Niles City Schools for 30 years.
Patricia’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a devoted member of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren, where she actively participated in The Ladies Guild. Renowned for her culinary talents, she delighted many with her delicious kolachi rolls and remarkable cooking. Time spent with her beloved family was of utmost importance to her, and she found joy in baking, watching her favorite game shows—particularly Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy—and passionately supporting Penn State and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
On August 1, 1959, Patricia married Joseph Sudik Sr., who preceded her in death on February 7, 1995. Her legacy of love and kindness endures through her four children: Joseph Sudik Jr. and his wife Phyllis of Niles; Thomas Sudik and his wife Stephanie of Niles; James Sudik and his wife Laurie of Niles; and Teresa Elbon and her husband James of Mineral Ridge. She also leaves behind six treasured grandchildren—Nicholas Sudik (Maria), Alexandria Sudik (Tyler), Anthony Elbon (Hannah), Alexi Elbon, Holly Kirk (Chris), and Jake Long—and a host of nieces and nephews.
Patricia was lovingly remembered by her siblings: five brothers—Frank Shufran of Hobart, Indiana; Donald Shufran of Bradford, Pennsylvania; Alex Shufran and his wife Mary of Huron, Ohio; Ken Shufran and his wife Georgie of Clifford, Virginia; and Greg Shurfran and his wife Jennifer of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania—and a sister, Verone Hill of Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Stephen, John, and Andy Shufran, and six sisters, Mary Raymond, Barbara Shufran, Madeline Mehallow, Pauline Shufran, Kathleen Stone, and Judy Shufran.
