Philip Corturillo, 90, of Lordstown died peacefully at home surrounded by family at 9:40 p.m. June 13, 2017 due to complications of cancer.
He was born January 17, 1927 in Gioiosa Marea, Sicily, Italy the son of Ignazio and Angela Mollica Cortuillo and came to the United States in 1953 with his wife Nina.
He was a retiree of General Motors Lordstown after being employed for 23 years, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles.  Enjoyed playing bocce, gardening, dancing and traveling.  He also enjoyed wintering in Florida for the past 26 years with his wife Nina.
His wife Nina Santinoceto Corturillo whom he married July 25, 1953 died April 6, 2017.

He will be deeply missed by a son Anthony Corturillo and his wife Janice of Hudson, Ohio, two brothers, Tindaro Corturillo and his wife Maria of Catania,Italy, and Joseph Corturillo of Niles, a sister, Carmela Natoli of Sicily, Italy,  and two grandchildren, Emily Corturillo of Bloomington, Indiana and Amanda Corturillo of Lordstown, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a son Ignazio (Pat) Corturillo, and four sisters, Maria (Santa), Sara (Maria), Josephine (Sara) and Tindara.

Friends may call Friday June 16th from 8:30AM to 9:30AM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Lordstown Cemetery.
