Rachel "Clara" Patrone Boyd, 83, of Niles died at 8:30AM Monday August 18, 2014 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.

She was born December 2, 1930, in Niles, OH, the daughter of Luigi and Angelina Russo Patrone, both from Bagnoli, Irpino, Italy, She lived her whole life in her hometown of Niles, Ohio that she loved very much, she graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1948, and on August 30, 1949 married Alex "Red" Boyd Sr., who passed away October 2, 1984. They had three children, Alex "Rusty" Boyd Jr. and wife Kathy of Warren, Ohio, Louis (Laura) Boyd, of Willoughby, Ohio and Rachel (Jim) March of Niles, Ohio.

Rachel was employed at Mitolo's Flowers, Mollica's Catering and Maxine's Body Statement. She enjoyed music, dancing, singing, ceramics, gardening, canning and people. Her favorite sayings, "It's not the years in your life that counts but the life in your years" and "A stranger was a friend you never met".

She is survived by her children; brothers Dominic "Snaps" Patrone and wife Alice, of Fontana, CA, and Tony Patrone and wife Marcella of Cayce, SC; two grandchildren, Alex "Ajay" Boyd III, of Charlotte, NC and Kelli Flatt of Tulsa, OK; two great granddaughters, Kameron and Alexis Flatt of Tulsa, OK; four step-grandchildren, Stephanie (Anthony) Tamburro of Girard, OH, Stacey March of Niles, OH, Tony Patete (Jen) of Chardon, OH, and Michelle (Rich) Palin, of Mentor, OH, and five great step-grandchildren, Danielle Palin, Cara, Gabriella, Mario and Bobby Patete, and one great great step-grandchild Nino Tomaro.

Deceased are her parents Angelina & Luigi Patrone, sisters Marianne Sabino, Marianne Patrone, Connie Russo, Rosalyn Rotunno, and brothers Nelson "Andy" Patrone, Joseph "Pep" Patrone, Mike Patrone and Larry Patrone.

Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7PM and Thursday from 9 to 10AM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mt. Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30PM.on Wednesday.

Funeral Services will be held 10AM Thursday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with Fr. John-Michael Lavelle officiating.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
