Reginald F. Giancola, age 88, of Niles passed peacefully Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Trumbull Regional Medical Center.

He was born the son of the late Nick and Beatrice "De Christofaro" Giancola,January 2, 1931 in Niles.

Reginald worked at Republic Steel LTV and WCI from 1952-1992 as a roller in the cold strip department.

Reginald was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Niles and was a 1949 graduate of Niles High School where he excelled in all athletics including:football, basketball and baseball.

Many knew him for his coaching abilities with the Niles Youth League and as a member of the Niles Frountliners.

He served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict where he served as a Sergeant with the Army Combat Engineers Corp.  He enjoyed fishing,gardening and his trips to Las Vegas.

Memories will be carried on by his daughter Linda (Michael) Hionas, Leavittsburg, sons: Reginald (Darlene) Giancola Jr. of Niles, Nick (Cindy) Giancola of McDonald,Larry Giancola of Mineral Ridge, and David Giancola of Niles.  Grandchildren: Brianne Dennis, Reginald Giancola III, Nickolas Giancola II, Erica Lewis,Jonathan Giancola, Jenna and Krista Hionas and 9 great-grandchildren.

Reginald was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy D'Orio Giancola who he married December 29, 1951 and passed in 1992.

Mr. Giancola's family will receive friends Monday, April 29, 2019 from 9:00 till 10:30 am at the Joseph Rossi & Sons Funeral Home, 457 Robbins Avenue, Niles.

A funeral service will follow at 10:30 am at the funeral home.

Committal services with military honors will be held at Green Haven Cemetery in Canfield.
