Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Renee Simoncini Zuzolo, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and community., Renee Zuzolo 81 passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of February 18, 2025. Born on August 21, 1943, in Clifton Heights, PA, she was the cherished daughter of Damerino and Clara (Dercole) Simoncini. A proud 1961 graduate of Clifton Heights High School, Renee continued her education at West Chester University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She began her teaching career in Toledo, nurturing young minds at the elementary level before transitioning to A.T.E.S., where she influenced many until 1989. Following her passion for education, Renee then took on the role of President of ETI Technical College of Niles, where she left a lasting legacy in the field of technical education. Renee was a devout member of Saint Pope John the 23rd Parish - Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles and served her community as a past member of the Niles Rotary, Warren Women's Junior League, the White House Ladies, and President Trumbull County Bar Ladies Auxiliary. Her hobbies included dancing, golfing, and gardening, each of which she enjoyed with her long-term companion Thomas Hufnagel. Renee's loving husband, Ralph Zuzolo, whom she married on August 14, 1965, preceded her in death on August 22, 2005. She is survived by a devoted family: three sons, Christopher (Jaime) Zuzolo of McDonald, Ralph Zuzolo of Howland, Philip Zuzolo of Niles; a daughter, Julianne (Jeff) Edmundson of Howland; two sisters, Roseanne Cefaratti of Pennsylvania and Diane Huff of California; ten grandchildren, Katelynn Zuzolo, Zackarenato Zuzolo, Corrin Zuzolo, Callen Zuzolo, John Bereber, Abigail (Christian) Gatta, Jet Steven Bereber, James Kevin Bereber, Luke Edmundson, and Liam Edmundson; and a great-grandson, Callum Gatta. Renee's legacy is one of compassion, generosity, and devotion. Her impact on the lives of those who knew her will never fade, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Renee was predeceased by her parents. A private service will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3 Summit Park Dr. #550, Independence, Ohio 44131.
