Rex J. "R.J." Charles, 68, of Niles died at 3:35PM Sunday October 22, 2017 at St. Joseph's Warren Hospital.

He was born January 13, 1949 in Rochester, New York the son of Frank and Netta Knight Charles.

R.J. was a 1967 graduate of Penfield High School in New York, owned and operated a cleaning service and water and fire restoration company for 15 years and a bowling pro shop in Kona, Hawaii for 10 years retiring in 2008. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, antiquing, restoring, creating landscape art, and a United States Marine Corp veteran of The Vietnam War.

R.J. will be sadly missed by his wife Lucy Bottiglieri Charles whom he married July 1, 1995, and several family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Andrew and Josephine Bottiglieri, and a nephew Justin Bottiglieri.

Friends may call from 11AM to 1PM Saturday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where R.J. will be honored for his military services by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard at 1PM with a family eulogy to follow.
