Robert D. Gumino Sr, 74 of Niles died Tuesday May 12, 2015 at his residence.

He was born July 20, 1940 in Warren the son of Frank and Elizabeth Braun Gumino.

Robert was a 1959 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, a firefighter for the City of Niles for 20 years, co-owned and operated Central Paving with James Infante for 30 years, and owned and operated G & F Management with his wife Gloria for 20 years.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, Vienna Fish and Game, and enjoyed golfing as he belonged to several leagues. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and archery with his sons, and traveling.

He served in The United States Army and Air Force Reserves for six years having left as a Staff Seargant.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Gloria Cretella Gumino whom he married May 4, 1963 and just celebrated 52 years of marriage. He leaves a daughter Maria Naples of Girard, two sons Robert D. Gumino Jr. and his wife Leslie of Howland and Michael Gumino and his wife Sheryl of Howland, a sister Mary Herlinger and her husband George of Fishers, Indiana, five grandchildren, Alicia Naples, Michael Gumino Jr., Madeline Gumino, Robert Gumino, and Alex Gumino, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Frank Gumino III.

Friends may call from 4 to 7PM Thursday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery where Bob will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.

Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
