Robert "Bob" Miller Sr., 75, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren.
Bob was born June 17, 1938, in Niles, the son of William and Anne Brutka Miller Sr.
He was a graduate of Niles McKinley High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Bob was an officer for the Niles Police Department for 30 years before retiring in 2002. He then went on to work for the Mahoning Valley Sanitary District as an officer for eight years.
Bob was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, FOP Lodge 27, San Filippo Neri Lodge and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a car enthusiast, and an avid Browns and Pirates fan.
Bob will be deeply missed by his wife, Mena Altobelli Miller, whom he married April 25, 1959; two daughters, Linda (Chris) Mannella and Jolene (Brian) Morello, both of Niles; six grandchildren, Jodi Miller, Danielle Cleckner, Marli Miller, Nicole Morello, Christopher Mannella and Dominic Morello; and two great-grandchildren, Trace Robert Mitchell and Sophia Grace Cleckner.
Bob was preceded in death by a son, Robert Miller Jr., and brother, Bill Miller Jr.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles, where the Mount Carmel Bereavement ministry will conduct prayers at 7:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles.
Bob will be honored for his service to our country by the Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
