IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert A.
Polivka Jr.
June 3, 1960 – January 25, 2024
Robert A. Polivka, Jr., 63, of Howland, passed away on Thursday January 25, 2024 at his residence. He was born June 3, 1960 in Warren, the son of Robert and Janet Jerina Polivka Sr. He was a 1978 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and a member of the golf team. Rob had a long successful career in sales and currently owned and operated his own importing business, R & D Packaging, LLC. Throughout his ten years in business for himself and many years in sales, he was well regarded as one of the best in his field. He also had a long career in the restaurant industry as well as being part owner of A. Carrolls Bistro in Williamsburg, Virginia. In his time in the restaurant industry, he was known for his attention to detail and adding that personal touch to the experience, taking great pride in making every person's night as special as possible. When serving tables himself, his nights were almost fully booked by requests for him personally. He enjoyed golf, traveling, the arts and theater, music, the symphony, museums, good food, and cooking, but most of all Rob loved making memories with the people he loved. He always wanted the absolute best experience for everyone because he knew that the memories we keep are what mean the most; and he made good on that, sparing no expense to make it happen. He was a great memory maker and he was truly loved for it. He will be sadly missed by his mother, Janet Polivka, with whom he made his home, a daughter Jennifer Polivka of Carbondale, Colorado, a son Robert A. Polivka III of Cortland, a sister Christine Fluharty and her husband Daniel of Allen, Texas, two brothers, Michael Polivka and James Polivka both of Howland, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Friends may call from 5PM up until the time of the 7PM funeral service Tuesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles. Rob had a compassionate and generous heart, and to honor that memory, the family asks that material contributions be made to The Second Harvest Food Bank, 2805 Salt Springs Road, Youngstown, Ohio 44509. Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral in Niles.
