Rocky P. Fredericka, 87, of Niles died at 11:37 AM, Monday, October 18, 2010 at Shepherd of The Valley Home in Niles, Ohio.

He was born October 2, 1923 in Niles the son of Nicholas and Theresa Modarelli Fredericka.

Rocky was employed at National Life and Accident Insurance Company, Director of Trumbull County Child Support Enforcement Agency, and a bailiff at The Trumbull County Courthouse. He was also assistant manager at The Eastwood Mall for The Cafaro Company, and was a pioneer in the development of drug and alcohol abuse programs with Universal Research, Inc.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Niles, a church usher, Warren Elks Club, Niles 3'rd Ward Councilman, and a member of Civilian Conservation Corps in 1939 in Oregon.

He enjoyed golfing, bowling, boating, car auctions, coached little league baseball, was an avid football fan especially of Notre Dame. He enjoyed socializing with family and friends, and loved animals.

His wife Irene Rose Fredericka whom he married July 24, 1948 died December 10, 1991.

He will be deeply missed by two sons, Dr. David N. Fredericka and his wife Catherine of Warren and Attorney James A. Fredericka and his wife Lou Ann of Warren, a brother John Fredericka and his wife Violet of Niles, a sister Rose Calderone of Niles, a sister-in-law Mary Rose of Niles, four grandchildren, Caitlin Rose Fredericka, David Ryan Fredericka, Gina Marie Fredericka, and Michael James Fredericka, and 13 nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by six brothers, James Fredericka, Joseph Fredericka, Frank Fredericka, David A. Fredericka, Anthony Fredericka, and Sam Fredericka, two sisters, Mary Infante and Maggie Fredericka, and two childhood brothers, Dominic Fredericka and Joseph Fredericka.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 PM, Thursday, at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where the Mt. Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niles, with Fr. Larry Frient officiating, preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
