Roger G. Ferko, 71, of Niles, died at 3:50PM Tuesday September 4, 2012 at The Cleveland Clinic.

He was born October 20, 1940 in Warren the son of George and Mary Bretzik Ferko.

He was a 1958 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and employed as a chemical lab analyst at W.C.I. Steel for 41 years retiring in 2000.

Roger was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, enjoyed playing pool, golfing, bowling, horseracing, an avid sports fan, and a United States Army National Guard Veteran having served six years as a military policeman.

Roger, who was a loving fiancAC.e, father, and grandfather, and known for his laugh, will be deeply missed by his fiancee' Danette Manusakis of Niles, two sons, Rick M. Ferko and his wife Christine of Columbus and Roger J. Ferko and his wife Mary of Brooklyn, Michigan, a daughter Lauren Manusakis of Niles, a sister Carol Zordich and her husband Nick of Niles, five grandchildren, Jason Lefebvre, Christopher Lefebvre, Elaina Ferko, Justine Ferko, and Kyle Ferko.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 5 to 8PM Friday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 7:30PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00AM Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles with Reverend John-Michael Lavelle officiating, preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
