Russell W. Beatty, 81, of Niles died at 1:36AM Monday July 28, 2014 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.

He was born August 8, 1932 in Clintondale, New York, the son of Walter and Ethel Tompkins Beatty.

Russell was a 1951 graduate of Highland High School in Highland, New York and served his country as a Staff Sargeant for 21 years in The United States Air Force in the communications division. He served in The United States, Korea, England, Germany, and Turkey until retiring in 1973. Russell enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed being active in the community and The Niles Senior Center

His wife, Katherine Beatty, whom he married September 17, 1955 died November 18, 1996.

Russ who would do anything for his friends, was well liked, and had a likeable personality, will be deeply missed by his two sons, Steven Beatty and his wife Denise of Niles, Kevin Beatty of Hubbard, two daughters, Cherie Michael and her husband Ken of Bristolville, and Sandra Bolleter and her husband Scott of San Antonio, Texas, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. He will also be missed by his companion Joyce Davidson whom he enjoyed traveling with and doing numerous activites together

He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Sallie Sowers-Beatty

Friends May Call Wednesday from 6 to 8PM and Thursday from 10 to 11AM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Funeral Services will be held 11AM Thursday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with Pastor Russell Adams officiating.

Burial will be held at Niles City Cemetery, where Russell will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
