NILES – Ryan A. Burke, 36, died at 11:24 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at St. Joseph's Hospital Eastland in Warren.
He was born June 22, 1980, in Warren, the son of Michael and Darlene Gatta Burke.
Ryan was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles.
He was a 1998 graduate from Niles McKinley High School and later graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
Ryan was an exceptional baseball player who went on to play collegiately at both Youngstown State and Mount Union. He was also a very accomplished golfer.
Over the last five years, he was employed at Unique Landscaping and Design.
Ryan was an intelligent, fun-loving person who had a huge heart and always wanted what was best for everybody.
He will be deeply missed by his parents of Niles; his sister, Jaclyn Gerberry and her husband, Daniel of Boardman; his niece, Dani Rose Gerberry; his maternal grandmother, Rita Gatta of Niles; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Lawrence Gatta, and his paternal grandparents, Jack and Lena Burke.
Friends may call Monday, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the Joseph Rossi & Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Monday, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles, preceded by an 11:30 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.
