Salvatore N. Barbati, 86, of Niles, passed away Thursday March 14, 2019 at Continuing Health Care at The Ridge in Mineral Ridge.

He was born March 27, 1932 in Niles the son of Aniello and Margaret Miranda Barbati.

He was a 1950 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, employed at Youngstown Sheet and Tube retiring in 1981, and member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, avid Cleveland Sports fan, and was a United States Air Force veteran of The Korean War.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Joann Malvasia Barbati whom he married June 6, 1959, two daughters, Rose Barbati Batson of Girard, and Margaret Barbati Brenner of Orlando, Florida, four grandchildren, Maria Leedy, Gena Leedy, Christine Edwards, and William Brenner II, and six great-grandchildren, Emilia Rose, Milo Christopher, Anastasia, Nate, Tiffini, and Megan.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Anthony Barbati, Patrick Barbati, and Edmond Barbati, and a sister Angela Marie Barbati.

Friends may call Monday from 4 to 5PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 5PM.

A Memorial Mass will be held 10AM Tuesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles.
