Salvatore L. "Sam" D'Errico, 74, of Niles, died at 10:31AM Tuesday January 10, 2017 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.

He was born August 25, 1942 in Niles the son of Sam and Philomena Julian D'Errico

He was a 1960 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, graduated from Youngstown State University with two year Associate Degree in accountimg .and was employed at General Motors EDS as an accountant for 35 years retiring in 2000

Sam was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, church usher, festival volunteer, and served on its parish council and finance committee. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, building model ships, avid Cleveland Sports fan, and a United States Army Veteran during the Vietnam War having served as a Military Policeman.

Sam, who was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and papa, will be deeply missed by his wife Joyce Kijowski D'Errico whom he married July 24, 1965, a son James D'Errico of Niles, a brother Nick D'Errico and his wife Doris of Canfield, and two grandchildren, Alysse Marie D'Errico and Gavin Joseph D'Errico.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Joseph D'Errico, a brother Vincent D'Errico, a sister Grace Demetruk, and a daughter-in-law, Sarah D'Errico.

Friends may call from 4 to 7PM Friday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery where Sam will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.

Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
