Shirley Scarnecchia, 70 of Canton, formerly of Niles died Thursday December 13, 2012 at The Laurels of Canton Nursing Home.

Born April 11, 1942 in New Castle, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Antoinette Nastasi and Albert Ehrenberg

She was a lifelong Niles area resident. Shirley was a homemaker where she enjoyed cooking, baking, spending time and loving and caring for her family especially her grandchildren. She was a 1960 graduate of Howland High School.

The many wonderful memories will be carried on by her loving family. Her husband Thomas A. whom she married April 27, 1963, her son Thomas M. of Canton, a daughter Christine(Bob) McBride of Canton, grandchildren Robby and Marybeth McBride of Canton, her stepfather William Nastasi of Warren who loved and raised her, a brother Albert(Debbie) Ehrenberg of Columbus, several nieces and nephews, and many close friends including Nancy, Marlene, and Georgetta who were very close to her.

She retired from the Mt. Carmel School Cafeteria as supervisor and the Fairhaven program as food Service Director.

Shirley was also a past partner with her husband in Scarnecchia's Catering and Food, Executive Inn Restaurant, Applewood Garden Banquet Center, All Dimensions Hair Salon and Gifts Shops.

Friends may call from 4 to 7PM Thursday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
