IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stanley
Datchuk
September 14, 1932 – November 28, 2013
Stanley Datchuk ,81, of Niles, died at 10am Thursday November 28th at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. Stanley was born September 14, 1932 in Niles, Ohio to George and Sarah Mlynarcik Datchuk. Stan graduated from the old Niles McKinley High School in June, 1950. Later that month, he, along with his twin brother, George, and several others, would all enlist together in the U.S. Army. As luck would have it, the Korean War erupted several days after enlisting. However, like so many others of that generation, Stan and his buddies took it in stride and did their duty, serving their great nation and fighting in the snow and cold of Korea. In 1955, Stan married the love of his life, a pretty Italian-American girl from Henry Street whom he had known since childhood, Amelia Gioiello. Although Stan's own father died when he was just 6 years old, fatherhood came naturally to him. He and Amelia were married for 58 years, totally dedicated to their children and grandchildren. Stan retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1990, and also worked alongside his very dear friend, the late Jimmy Chieffo, in several area restaurants. Besides his wife and family, Stan's other great loves were his Democratic Party, the Detroit Tigers, and the Green Bay Packers, in no particular order. Stan was also talented in woodworking and cooking, completing many home improvement projects, and creating many great meals for family and friends. Stan lived by the "Golden Rule," always treating others the way he wanted to be treated, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or background. Stanley (or "Stash" as friends called him), is survived by his wife, the former Amelia Frances Gioiello, whom he married Aug. 20, 1955, his children, Joseph ( Phyllis "Mimi" ) of Girard, Lisa ( Mark ) Tepsich of McDonald, Carmen of Niles, and Julie ( Joseph) Burnham of Niles. Stan is also survived by his grandchildren, Atty. Joseph ( Emily ) of Girard, Robert ( Megan) of Girard, Atty. Mark Tepsich of Cleveland, Sarah Tepsich of McDonald, Carmen J. Datchuk of Niles, and Emily Burnham of Niles, two step-grandchildren, Joshua and Taylor Burnham, and a great-grandson, Luca Datchuk. Stan also leaves his beloved twin brother, George Datchuk, of Niles, and his older brother, Edward Datchuk, of McDonald. Besides his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his only sister, Mrs. Sophie Ruman, and brothers John and Pete Datchuk.
