Viola M. Franco, 84, of Austintown, died at 6:44AM Saturday October 6, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in Youngstown.

She was born May 19, 1928 in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of Louis and Annette Monaco Putigano.

Viola was of the Catholic faith. She was a homemaker and her greatest joy in life was her family. She enjoyed spending time with them, cooking her famous meatballs and sauce on Sundays, bingo, playing cards with her friends and doing her crafts.

Her husband Joseph J. Franco whom she married February 28 1948 died March 30, 1996.

She will be deeply missed by her three sons Joseph N. Franco and his wife Rebecca of Howland, Victor Franco and his wife Pauline of Austintown, Gary Franco and his wife Marianne of McDonald, a daughter Linda Mesik and her husband Dennis of Austintown, three brothers, Robert Putigano and his wife Victoria of Girard, Santo (Sandy) Putigano of Niles, Mario "Jim" Putigano (Phyllis) of New Castle, Pennsylvania, nine grandchildren, Gina Franco, Angela Jones, Joseph N. Franco Jr. and his wife Andrea, John M. Franco and his wife Amy, Elise Moffett and her husband Jon, Karlie Franco, Michael Pasquale, Erica Eynon and her husband Brian, and Stephen Mesik, and five great-grandchildren, Kelsie, Christopher, Michael, Joseph B., and Lenny.

Friends may call from 5 to 8PM Tuesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Funeral services will be held 10AM Wednesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with Fr. James Walker officiating.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
