Obituary

William Franklin Ritter Sr., 79 of Seminole Florida died June 5, 2011 at Largo Medical Center in Largo, Florida.

He was born October 25 1931 in Akron, Ohio the son of Raymond and Bessy Marie Kick Ritter.

Bill was a 1949 graduate of Coventry High School in Akron, a graduate of The Warren Ohio Police Academy, and employed as a sergeant in The Warren Police Department for 28 years before retiring in 1984.

He was a member of The Masonic Lodge in Warren, enjoyed his walks on the beach with his wife, golfing, fishing, airplanes, and a boating enthusiast, He was also a four year United States Air Force veteran of The Korean War having served as an airplane technician.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Mae Marino Ritter whom he married August 3, 1977, five sons William Ritter Jr. and his wife Debbie of Warren, Terry Ritter of Seminole, Florida, Keith Ledsome and his wife Carri of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Bill Ledsome Jr. of Niles, and Larry Bulford of New Port Richey, Florida, two daughters, Barbara Correnti and her husband Joe of New Jersey, and Betty Ault and her husband Bo of Arlington, Virginia, three brothers, Harry Ritter and his wife Joyce of Canton, Ohio, Raymond Ritter, of Canton, and Robert Ritter of Canton, a sister Ruth Geiger of Seminole, Florida, eleven grandchildren, Chrissy Greenlee, Tara Schinder, and her husband Christopher, Melissa Barnfield and her husband Brian, George Daily Jr, Jenny Ritter, William Franklin Ritter III, Kennedy Bulford, Brianna Ledsome, Conner Ledsome, Brooks Marino Ledsome, and Jackson Harding Ledsome, and 10 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father Raymond Franklin Ritter and his mother Bessy Marie Kick Ritter.

Friends may call Saturday from 11AM to 12PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Memorial services will be held 12PM Saturday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where Bill will be honored for his military service by the Girard Veterans Council Honor Guard.
