Alan resided in the New Middletown area, until volunteering for the United Dates Army, on May 3, 1965, serving during the Vietnam War, stationed in Germany, with Honorable Discharge, April 17, 1967, from Fort Hamilton, New York. Alan always spoke of his years of Service, with great pride, and loved his entire platoon, staying in contact for years afterwards.
Upon Discharge Alan then relocated to Warren, Ohio, employed by Packard Electric for 30 years, until his Retirement, making many lifelong friends, who became his, "family", for life. Alan was a faithful Son, Brother, Grandson, Uncle, Great Uncle, and faithful friend, to all he encountered. with generosity to his entire families, in both Mahoning and Trumbull Counties.
Alan enjoyed nothing more than viewing Exhibits at the Butler, attending car shows, going out to eat with friends and families, his love for music, and being the life and center of the party, and knowing how to make people laugh.
Alan always loved animals. There was never a time when there was not a kitten or two, always strays, that he so lovingly adopted. His Alice, Willard, Casey, Tinkerbell, Smokey, and many other furry bundles of love, brought him endless smiles, and laughter. They were his companions, and followed him everywhere.
Left to cherish Alan's memories are a Twin Sister, Ilene (Robert) Felger; Nieces, Sherri (Dana) Byers; Terri Bartell; Tammi Sawyer; Kim Langer. Nephew, David ( Tracy) Hoffman; Great Nieces, and Great Nephews.
